Meet Shaye, the Creator of Mycurlyosity
Welcome to Mycurlyosity and thank you for checking in!
My name is Shaye Salazar and my dream is to share my curly hair secrets with you on this blog. As the name of my site implies, I’m a curious curly girl. Always have been, and always will. I ask a lot of questions, demand a lot of answers, and love to explore all of the different “curlyosities” life has to offer (as in curiosities, get it? So clever, I know!).
Thus, Mycurlyosity was born. A place to discover who you are and how to find out how to take care of your hair the right way to get the results you want.
A Little About Shaye
I’ve always been a big dreamer, and I’ve finally decided to start making my dreams come to life by sharing my knowledge with you on this blog. I started my hair journey over seven years ago and I haven’t stopped trying to improve since! I’ve always known that I had something special since the day I could talk. Unfortunately, I used to try to hide my curls because I thought I had to have straight hair like everyone else in order to fit in. I tried to conform to society’s expectations, but I soon realized that was wrong. I’ve always been different and I finally realized one day that it was okay to embrace it! I’ve never made a better decision in my entire life.
From then on, it was like I was a new person. Knowing more about hair in general and how I to take care of it made my personality shine through. I became a completely new person! There was no more wearing black all the time and hiding in the shadows (yes, I went through the “emo phase” just like everyone else). The girl who felt awkward and out of place ceased to exist.
I discovered confidence in myself and no longer cared what people thought of me. There was no more rushing to the bathroom and plugging in my straightener every time I started to sweat in gym class. Straightening my hair became a treat to see how long my hair was instead of a daily necessity. I discovered that my hair had multiple curl patterns. I found out what my hair liked, what it didn’t, and even discovered that my hair had a personality of its own!
About the Creation of Mycurlyosity
Ever since I discovered how amazing my hair was, I’ve always been the one people came to for hair advice. I got compliments wherever I went (and I still do). People wanted to touch my hair and learn my secrets. I wasn’t so big on strangers touching me, but I was more than happy to tell them a thing or two!
Your hair is not only a part of your body. Understanding it can help you find happiness, acceptance, and your true identity! That might sound crazy, but think about it. If you see someone with a crazy hairstyle or a bad haircut, you automatically judge them based upon it. You probably won’t say anything negative to them, but someone else might. On the other hand, imagine that you see someone with a cool haircut or really long, pretty hair. You might compliment them and they’ll feel even better about themselves.
So if you aren’t feeling confident about your hair or who you are, I want to help! Having great hair plays a small but significant part. If you are more confident about your hair, you will likely be more confident about your entire appearance in turn.
Mycurlyosity is a place where you can learn how to improve your hair and become a hair-care master like me! This is a community of people who love their hair and want to learn more. If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, join the mailing list and enjoy being curlyious!
Discover something new and give it a try. Make this website your hair bible! You never know what will work for you! Everyone’s hair is different and will react in different ways, but I’m here to make sure that you can have the hair you’ve always dreamed of.
Let me guide you! You don’t even have to have curly hair to benefit from this website. All hair has the same chemical makeup. Curly hair is just a bit more delicate and needs different care than other hair types. But if you have stumbled upon this website and want to improve your hair’s health, you will be able to take away at least one thing from this site.
Whether your goal is having overall healthier hair, feeling more feminine (or even masculine), or growing your hair as long as you possibly can, I’m here to help you make your hair the best it can be.
